Alma Domus is the first floor of one of the most interesting vaulted houses in Amalfi.

It is accessed from the historic pedestrian street Via Maestra dei Villaggi and the so-called Pomicara, which is accessed from the highway 163 via S. Quasimodo,  number 36. It is located 900 meters from the center of Amalfi, 500 meters from the beach of Duoglio.

It retains many period elements, characterized by refined simplicity and traditional construction techniques: vaulted ceilings, barrel and ogival vaults, architraves and original wooden doors; irregular stone walls and plasters made exclusively with traditional mortars, the result of the millenary experience of masonry art, composed with lime, lapillo and local red earth; the old lime and pumice beaten of the vaulted roof; the blue/green plastering of some rooms, in part original, result of overlaps occurred over the centuries, that in the western entrance, let imagine the sea in the only environment where it is not possible to admire it.​

ROOMS

Alma Domus has three bedrooms with private bathroom and terrace, all with sea view, for a total of 6 beds  (plus 2 in sofa bed),

illuminated, from dawn to dusk, by an enveloping light that, in the course of the seasons and of the day, makes change the colors of the particular finishes that characterize the material plasters, internal and external,   

lime and pumice.

AURORA is the spacious suite with king bed and sofa bed. Sleeps up to four people. 

Independent entrance from Via Maestra dei Villaggi.

It has a terrace at the entrance overlooking the east on a romantic garden dominated by olive trees and overlooking the sea to the south,   with outdoor shower and stone whirlpool tub with water blade and 3 hydro stations.

Entrance with kitchenette and minibar. 

Bathroom with two rain shower heads, wall decorated with antique "riggiole", freestending sink in travertine, carved by local craftsman,  ceiling in ancient chestnut beams.

Bedroom with terrace overlooking the sea,  romantic vaulted ceiling, minimal profile steel fixtures, wrought iron canopy bed made by the blacksmith artist Erasmo D'Amato di Maiori, two-seater sofa bed, antique dresser.

CIELO is the central bedroom with a charming finish, made by master restorers/decorators Franco De Stefano and Michele Pontillo, who were inspired by the blues and greens of the past, of which there is still trace in some parts.

CIELO is dominated by an imposing and austere ogival vault, left with the original plaster of the 500 to view and the ancient beams that once supported the typical loft of the houses. Bathroom with door window sea view and vaulted ceiling, large shower with rain shower, travertine basin with two tubs, wall decorated with ancient Neapolitan "riggiole". Bed ...... with fabric headboard. Antique flap with "secrets" typical of this type of antique furniture. Steel frame with minimal profile. Terrace with sea view.

SOLE is the bright bedroom with sea view, with independent entrance, to the west, from Pomicara slope.   Internal access door that opens onto the blue entrance that serves as a small study/living area and offers a kitchenette with sink, induction hob, drawer fridge, coffee maker, ice maker and crockery.

The BLUE ENTRANCE from which you access the rooms SKY and SUN. The oldest part of the house, characterized by plastering and blue/ green finishes that in many parts are still the original ones. Also restored by the master restorers/decorators Franco De Stefano and Michele Pontillo.

Dining table in chestnut of the '700 and kitchenette with top made with "riggiole" antique. Sink in travertine, induction top and refrigerator drawers.
